Why We Choose to Skip Laser Treatments

Why We Choose to Skip Laser Treatments

Posted by Brandt Doyle on

In the world of skincare and anti-aging, lasers have become a staple service offered by skin specialists, plastic surgeons, and med spas. Here at the Résolu Method, we frequently encounter questions about whether we offer laser treatments or if we approve of our clients seeking them elsewhere while working with us on their skincare journey. The answer is straightforward: we do not offer any cosmetic treatments involving lasers, and we advise against our clients pursuing them (with the exception of laser hair removal and similar services). Here’s why we believe this approach is in your best interest.

A High Price For Mediocre Results

Laser treatments often come with a hefty price tag. The trend of laser technology surged in the 2010s, leading many med spas to invest heavily in expensive equipment. To recoup these costs, they charge steep fees for each treatment. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost of laser skin resurfacing is approximately $2,509 for ablative lasers and $1,445 for non-ablative lasers. With that price range, you would expect excellent results that last – but that is not always the case. Laser resurfacing acts more as a “quick-fix” treatment for the effects of maturing skin. In contrast, the Résolu Method provides exceptional results with a long-term strategy for the health of your skin. Our approach focuses on delivering superior skincare that is worth the investment.

A Safer, More Effective Alternative

At the Résolu Method, we prioritize the health and safety of our clients above all else. While lasers can address skin concerns such as wrinkles, age spots, texture flaws, and acne scars, they come with notable risks. Laser resurfacing treatments are categorized into two main types: ablative (e.g., CO2 lasers) and non-ablative (e.g., IPL therapy). Although non-ablative lasers are generally considered less risky, both types can lead to potential side effects, including acne flare-ups, infections, changes in skin pigmentation, and scarring, according to the Mayo Clinic.

We have heard many accounts from clients who endured significant pain during laser treatments, only to find that the results did not justify the discomfort. These stories underscore our commitment to exploring safer, more effective alternatives. Our methods are designed to enhance your skin's health and appearance without the potential risks associated with laser procedures.

The Résolu Method’s two-phase program is centered around non-invasive, scientifically-backed techniques that prioritize your well-being and deliver lasting results. By focusing on long-term and innovative skincare solutions, we aim to achieve beautiful, healthy skin without the need for lasers.
